I have been involved with SYC for 6 years now and it has been a tremendous blessing. I am fortunate that my workplace hosts hunts for this group. It is a life changing experience to spend a weekend with Ed and the children. I look forward to many more.

It was five years ago that I became acquainted with SYC and the purpose that they serve. Although we have the best dove field in Walton County, I have not fired a shot in those five years. Suffice it to say, I now get my enjoyment from watching kids "shoot for their first time" at passing doves and they never know that I am watching and listening. It does my heart good and I experience that visceral feeling of accomplishment through them as if it were my first time on the field.

SYC is a wonderful organization that solicits, encourages, and sponsors children with handicaps or terminal illness to experience the "excitement" that we "hunters" take for granted as we have done so all our lives. We truly do not know what a blessing from "God" has been bestowed upon us.

It has been a pleasure dealing with Ed Persky and Kenny Anglin on these hunts over the years and we desperately seek support from business owners in the sport/hunting field. These children need help and we are doing everything we can to support them.

The intent of SYC is to introduce targeted children to otherwise "impossible sporting events" enabling them to go from "I can't syndrome to the "I can and I did" experience. In so doing, it garners parental involvement for a rewarding event. That said, it brings the whole family into the outdoor sportsman realm and propagates more people in the management of "outdoor renewable resources."

Special Youth Challenge of Georgia is a beacon of light for teenagers with handicaps or terminal illness. One would have to go far and long to find a more sincere and loving staff to look over them. We sincerely hope that others will find out about these endeavors and support us in our efforts to support this cause.

Our two boys are really enjoying being a part of the Special Youth Challenge Ministries of Georgia. We appreciate the hunting trips we have been on so far and look forward to even more fun times.

One of the things we really like about SYC is the fellowship with other families of children with special health care needs or circumstances. SYC tries to accommodate everyone's needs in order to allow anyone to hunt or fish, even with limited mobility.

Our family has met and become friends with so many people as a result of the SYC, and we are thankful for that as well.

Where to start? Special Youth Challenge Ministries of Georgia is AWESOME! I just can't express in words how great this wonderful organization is for special children. I have seen how SYC has touched so many children firsthand. Mr. Persky has helped so many children build confidence in themselves that they lacked for most of their lives. Not to mention the special bond that they form with others like them. I know that the thought of guns and children, especially handicapped children, is not pleasant, but think of the positives. Mr. Persky and SYC teaches these youths the PROPER use of a gun. They are taught safety. They are taught of the Lord and all His many blessings, as well. At the events, there's gospel singings, Bible Studies, prayers, and new friendships. You would not believe the volume of new friendships that are formed.

I have seen families grow closer because of SYC. I am sure that there has been times when special children have felt left out because their dads would go hunting or fishing and they couldn't go. But SYC and Mr. Persky create a bridge to bring this problem to an end. They make devices and special adaptors to help them overcome their obstacles.

It is just so wonderful what SYC has done and is continuing to do. After all, today's children are tomorrows leaders. Phil. 4:13 "I can do all things through God who strengthens me."
